I've got most of it put together so far, but it's not quite done yet. I'm waiting on a couple more submissions and I may end up changing the line up still. Also, due to Paypal's adjustment of their fees, I'm strongly considering upping the sale rates to 25 cents or $1 per contributor.

Future themes will be announced well ahead of time so that contributors can reference it during the development of their projects.WiseEyes Enterprisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429772797971612506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2087693517370898283.post-31028405444945604262011-03-03T21:55:00.000-07:002011-03-03T21:55:44.907-07:00Caffeine Zine Issue 2!New issue of Caffeine Zine coming out next month! We're always accepting submissions, but March 31st is the deadline for Issue 2 submissions. Please send in whatever you have as soon as possible. Permission to raid your blog, deviant art or online portfolio is also appreciated. Submissions may be of any and all printable formats on 8.5 x 5. So far, there's only going to be an e-release, but as soon as I acquire the means for print copies and proceed, I will let you know. The sale price of Issue 2 will be based upon the number of submissions used. Please feel free to email your submissions, inquiries or other communication to CaffeineZine AT Gmail DOT comWiseEyes Enterprisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429772797971612506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2087693517370898283.post-92083251158470870322011-02-01T17:28:00.005-07:002011-02-03T11:42:11.529-07:00MonetisedHello All
Please excuse the ads, it's a quick attempt at generating some form of revenue. Please feel free to click away on them (I'm not sure which ones will require you to fill anything out to count) and let me know if they are a bother. However, if they are a bother, please feel free to purchase a copy of CaffeineZine or make a donation to encourage their removal. :)

I'm working on putting in a donation button on my blogs, as well as providing High-Res PDF copies of CaffeineZine for purchase. The first issue will be listed at a price of $0.17 and contributors will receive $0.01 each per sale. I'm not sure how much future issues will cost, the price will be very dependent upon the number of contributors per issue. Low Res, .doc copies will still be available through Issuu.com.

Always open for submissions, contributions, donations and comments. Please feel free to contact me at any time!

Expect the next issue in March. Updates will follow!
EDIT: Caffeine Zine Issue 1 is now listed with a Buy Now button! I'll also add a Buy Now for the latest issue on a more permanent location for easier use. Enjoy!WiseEyes Enterprisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429772797971612506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2087693517370898283.post-57996268557086678772011-01-17T23:36:00.001-07:002011-01-18T15:03:55.036-07:00SalesSo, I've been thinking about putting the zine up for sale, nothing big, only like 15 cents or something. I wanted to give all contributors a portion of the profits, likely 1 cent each / sale. The pricing will be dependent upon the number of items within the zine at 1 cent per piece (to pay the contributor) plus a 3 cent base price (to cover my emotional damage). I still need to get permission from all contributors before I can do so, however. Also, I still refuse to hold any digital or otherwise publishing rites. Those will revert back to the author, but once your piece has been published, unless the rights were already sold/given away to someone else, it will remain within the pages of this mighty tome.

Low res .doc copies are presently available through Issuu.com . Higher resolution .pdf versions will be the for profit version and soon enough hard copies will be printed and disseminated upon request. Maybe I should just accept donations instead?

Anyway, Nano has finished, submissions are still open. I should begin harassing the fuck out of you supposed contributors.WiseEyes Enterprisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429772797971612506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2087693517370898283.post-43111609834712084462009-11-15T13:33:00.000-07:002009-11-15T13:33:23.160-07:00Update 0.4.6Developments!

Nano is fully under way now, hence lack of information and activity passing through this portal. I am still going to print this zine and want to shoot to have the first issue published by the end of January, but, due to Nano, submissions for January are extended through December for the moment.

Also, I've asked a friend of mine who's planning on getting into professional web development to make me a pretty website for this zine, so we should start having some actual asthetic appeal around here before too long. The URL shouldn't change, but the site's appearance probably will. Hopefully it doesn't take too long, I'm expecting about a month.

In Nano news, my novel is over 13k and climbing. Trying to hit 10k words today to get myself almost caught up again.WiseEyes Enterprisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429772797971612506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2087693517370898283.post-74141623068532461592009-10-17T16:30:00.000-07:002009-10-17T16:30:19.534-07:00Update 0.1.0Been a few days now, not much traffic here anyways, why I'll be posting this info elsewhere. Anyways, we've decided we're officially closing contributions for issue 1 at the end of November. That way we can prep it in December and distribute in January. Please get your contributions in earlier rather than later, but we'll still take a gander at everything we get. The leftovers and extras will be saved for later issues. Also, if you are an artist and are interested in partially decorating the zine, let me know. I'm planning on sending pages to artist so that they can print them out, decorate them, scan and email them back. That way we can get different themes and feels for different sections. My bro is still working on his centerpiece The Blowhole, or whatever he's calling it. He says he's planning on doing a series of comics. When I talked to him, he sounded pretty positive. Talking about how he really wanted to get into comic book art so he wanted to start taking more of a stab at all the different projects he has on his plate. I told him I'd be happy to help and will even do a re-write on Awakenings for him. I really hope he sticks with it cus it's kinda a dream of mine to have him do the art on my comics. Granted, I love many artists out there, Paul Duffield and Juan Jose RyP in particular, but I still love his style. He's definitely grown a lot and gotten far more talented and caried in his work. It's really impressive, I just hope he keeps it up and sticks with it. Maybe some day I'll be able to pay him for this shit or something. He'll probably blow me out of the water, but we'll see what happens.

So yeah, submissions for Issue 1 close November 30th. Editing and review will take place then and in December. Shouldn't take more than a month to hear if you're in Issue 1 or not. Far less than that, actually. I'm pretty excited about this so I tend to just jump on any submissions I get.WiseEyes Enterprisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429772797971612506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2087693517370898283.post-82021010036045676892009-10-10T16:15:00.002-07:002009-10-10T16:15:57.208-07:00Update 0.0.1Zine may very well be adding a few more pages. I'm not planning on printing it until the end of December, but we'll have to see how it goes. Don't wait to send in submissions until the last minute though, the earlier the better and what we don't have room for in this issue, I'll keep on file for future publications.

Other then that, I've been setting up the website and e-mail. Corresponding with my brother and other contributors. We're still trying to get K's piece figured out, but her sister is talking about submitting some photography and art. I told her I could send her some pages to decorate, like I was talking about doing with my bro, too. I'd like to get as many different artists as possible to decorate it. I think it'd be pretty neat to flip through this thing that's just full of beautiful words and have a constant shifting artistic interpretation of the works on each page. Each section having a different feel to it. If I could get it to the stage of artistic collaboration, where it's a sequence of connected images done by different artists, that shit would be the ideal. We'll have to wait and see how it goes. You don't start with greatness, you work your ass off to get there.WiseEyes Enterprisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16429772797971612506noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2087693517370898283.post-85611249683903952342009-10-09T01:38:00.000-07:002009-10-09T01:38:46.933-07:00"Hello, World!"Hello and welcome to Wise Eyes Enterprise. This is a temporary label that I'm going to use for my productions until my brother gets back to me with our official logo and label. I've been using the handle WiseEyes for a little while now and will probably continue to use it for my personal stuff at some point in the future. The calavera was found on a google search from the good folks at http://abookwithoutacover.wordpress.com/2008/11/04/dia-de-los-muertos/

I've sent them a request to use the graphic as I want it to be the associated logo for this label. I'll probably be changing this page around with the official label once my brother is finished designing it. At which point, it's likely I'll make a new blog for Wise Eyes Enterprise.

Anyway, I'm working on a zine, in case the url doesn't give it away, called Caffeine. The theme of it is: A Collection of the Diverse and Nonsensical. I'm using it to "publish" all the works that I don't think will quite fit in professional publications, so I'm releasing them myself. I also like to print works from friends and other amateur artists, poets, writers, essayists, reviewers, whoever. I'm open and willing to publish nearly everything I'm sent, well, pretty much works in any format. Depending on the responses I get, I may spring for color printing if the artwork warrants it. I'm planning on having my brother decorate the zine by hand after I add all the written works and digital images. I'm also giving him his own 4 or 8 page section in the middle called The Blowhole for him to do whatever he wants with. Once its completed, I'll be posting digital copies up here, one set formatted for printing at home single-sided, another for double-sided home printing and a final version just for electronic reading. The idea being, if you like it, you can email it to friends, post it elsewhere on the web, or print it off and distribute it in your area as well. I figure it'll help encourage reader contributions.

I don't have a set time line yet, but I would like to have all the submissions for the first issue received within about a month. Say... November 15, 2009. This may end up being quarterly, or monthly. It's most likely to have a new issue published whenever I receive enough contributions and get them stuck together. So, depending on you, the contributors, there very well could be a new issue every (other) week or so. Of course, the quicker I try to kick out issues, the plainer and less decorative they'll look. Perhaps I can print mini-issues in between the big releases...

We're open to constructive criticism, comments and ideas as well. If you'd like to contribute, fire away! Please email all legible and edited contributions to caffeinezine@gmail.com
